These are taught by one of our pastors and require pre-registration. No classes are currently scheduled.AHA (Active Happy Adults)AHA is a program for older adults of First Church and their friends. If you are 55 years of age or older, we want you to come join the fun. There is nothing to it but to sign up for whatever event or activity appeals to you and then participate. Some of our activities include things to do nearby or right here in Enid, such as dinner and live theater. We also take day trips out of town. Your friends are always welcome as are your ideas and suggestions. You may sign up for publicized events by calling the church office, 237-2041, or just asking at the Welcome Desk.Fellowship Dinner GroupsThese groups are made up of 4-6 adults (some singles, some couples) who meet once a month with a different person/couple "hosting" the dinner. It is a way to get to know a small group of people from the church over the course of a 6-7 month period. Groups have been assigned for this year. Signups will be available again in the Fall of 2012.Life TeamsThese are groups of individuals (2 or more people) who share a common interest and meet on a regular basis to participate in or discuss this activity. During their time together they include a discussion of a "God Question" as a way to bring God into their "daily life" activity. One way to participate in a Life Team discussion is to join "First United Methodist-Enid” on Facebook. If you are interested in joining or starting a life team, please click here to email the life team coordinator or call Susan Southall at 237-2041 x106.OneThirty-ThreeAs a young adult, how easy is it to meet people your age in Enid?Unless you go to a bar, it can be difficult. What if you’re not into the bar scene or getting tired of it?Then it’s even harder to connect with people your age.We know what it’s like. We don’t claim to have all the answers. We are just trying to live life together and hopefully find purpose in the process. Being a young adult in our society can be difficult. You’re not alone. This young adult (ages 18-35) ministry meets at 8:00 pm on Coffee House. Join us for bible Thursdays at DaVinci’s study and free coffee. Come meet people your own age.Psalm 133 represents for us something that all young adults are trying to find: unity, togetherness, community, a place of belonging. We see onethirty-three as a way to provide community for young adults as they realize the blessings of God we all share together.Weaver Memorial LibraryDid you know that we have over 3,700 books/resources in our church library? We have everything from reference materials and theological books to devotional books, biographies, and fiction. We also have video/DVD resources for small group studies or for home viewing. New books are added every month, so come by and "check out" the collection!Pastor’s PickThis year during Lent we are going to encourage the congregation to reflect upon the last words Jesus has to say from the cross. As a part of this time of reflection, we are recommending two different books. The first book is Final Words From The Cross by Adam Hamilton. Each chapter of this book provides an interesting first person story told from the perspective of one of the people who would have been at the cross. This is followed by reflections on the meaning of one of the last phrases of Jesus. Our second book will provide the foundation for our Lenten Bible Study on Thursdays. It is entitled, Thank God It’s Friday – Encountering the Seven Last Words from the Cross by William H. Willimon. As usual, Bishop Willimon provides a thought-provoking book! This one just might change the way you view Jesus’ last words from the cross! Minister of DiscipleshipRev. Susan Southall237-2041 x106disciple@firstchurchenid.com
