Afterwards the children are invited to rejoin their families for the remainder of the service. If the parent’s prefer, children younger than 1st grade can meet a teacher at the back of the sanctuary and spend the remainder of the service in their Sunday school classroom (room 202).Nursery Care - Room B-10Nurturing care is available during Sunday School and worship for newborn through age three. Child care is provided for other church functions, as needed.Children’s Library - Room 205This is a wonderful resource of books and videos for children and families to check out.Little Ladies Sewing Circle - Room 219Elementary-aged girls get the chance to work on sewing projects with UMW mentors. They complete one mission project each year as well as items to take home. The story they learn that month is the same, but it is approached in a different way each Sunday using various hands-on activities. In the fall all third gradersreceive a bible from the church. These bibles are presented to the children during a worship service.
In the first full week of June. Four days of learning about and praising God. Each day is from 9:00-12:00 and involves bible stories, crafts, music, snacks, and recreation for 4-year-olds through 5th grade. There is a Thursday night VBS program and pizza dinner for families.
One week each summer elementary school children have the opportunity to learn a fun bible-based musical which is presented in the worship service at the end of the week.
Children parade into the worship service waving real palm branches provided by the church.
Palm Sunday evening 3rd through 5th graders present a beautiful dramatic presentation of Christ’s Crucifixion and Resurrection as seen through the eyes of a child.
During the Sunday School hour, children hunt eggs on the church lawn.
Each summer 3rd - 6th grade students have the opportunity to attend summer camp. A great atmosphere of fun, adventure, and learning is provided!
