www.firstchurchenid.com             umc@firstchurchenid.com Children’s Ministry Sunday School Classes (9:40-10:40) Children two years old through Kindergarten learn bible truths and develop their relationship with Jesus through story time, interactive play related to the lesson, snacks, and crafts. 1st-5th graders meet in the Chinese Theater to sing and take roll, then disburse to “kid friendly” classrooms for bible lessons taught using drama, television news, cooking, videos, crafts, computers, and storytelling. Nursery & Toddlers Room B-10 2’s and 3’s Room 204 4’s, 5’s and Kindergarten Room 202 1st-5th Graders 3rd Floor - God’s Great Gallery Children’s Choir Every 6-8 weeks the 1st-5th grade choir sings in worship.  They sing songs learned in Sunday School during the beginning of the hour. Children’s Time During worship there is a time for preschool and elementary school aged children to come to the chancel steps and participate in the service.  Afterwards the children are invited to rejoin their families for the remainder of the service.  If the parent’s prefer, children younger than 1st grade can meet a teacher at the back of the sanctuary and spend the remainder of the service in their Sunday school classroom (room 202). Nursery Care - Room B-10 Nurturing care is available during Sunday School and worship for newborn through age three.  Child care is provided for other church functions, as needed. Children’s Library - Room 205 This is a wonderful resource of books and videos for children and families to check out. Little Ladies Sewing Circle - Room 219 Elementary-aged girls get the chance to work on sewing projects with UMW mentors.  They complete one mission project each year as well as items to take home.  They meet the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Director of Children’s Education Lori Markes markes@prodigy.net   Director of Preschool Education Ginger Diel   Special Events for Children Rotation Sunday School  consists of different workshops where kids rotate during the month.  The story they learn that month is the same, but it is approached in a different way each Sunday using various hands-on activities.  The repetition and variety engage the children, make Sunday School more fun, and help them remember the stories.
